A silver thread
Outlines the fluffy cloud
As thunder rumbles
And lightening strikes the ground.
Large raindrops fall
Dotting the grond below
Slowly, deliberately
The precursor to the show.
The wind begin to bow
Warning what’s to come
As a cloud opens up
Bursting, the dam undone.
Puddles form
Some shallow, others deep
Making me wonder
Why the sky weeps.
I upturn my face
Eyes close to the rain
Smiling with relief
As it washes away my pain.
